Nokia has always been known for its quality and budget-friendly products. But in recent years, the Finnish company has been struggling to keep up with the competition. As a result, its prices have been on the rise. Notably, Nokia is still the market leader for keypad mobiles.
About Nokia Mobiles
Nokia is a Finnish technology company having expertise in consumer electronics as well as handset manufacturing. In the year 2020, Nokia had a workforce of 92,000 people on its pool. Moreover, with an official presence in over 100 countries, the company have done business in more than 130 countries of the world.
Nokia launched its first GSM phone i.e. Nokia 1011 in 1992. In the early 2000s, after breaking a number of sales records the year after year, Nokia was one of the leading mobile phones brands with the highest sales in the world. However, the company failed to innovate with time and did not invest in the manufacturing of smartphones leading to its downfall.
Notably, Nokia 1100 and also Nokia 1100, the two bar phones released in 2001 and 2005, are the best-selling mobile devices in the whole world. Nokia has sold over 250 million units of both phones. It is worth mentioning that up to 2011, Nokia used Symbian as a main operating system for its smartphones. Nokia bought Symbian OS in the year 2008 as by the end of 2007 Symbian OS had 62.5 % market share of mobile operating systems.
In the year 2014, Microsoft bought Nokia’s mobile phone business and rebranded it as Microsoft Mobile. In 2016, Nokia returned to the mobile phone and smartphone business after a partnership with HMD Global.
Are Nokia mobile prices worth the money?
It depends. If you’re looking for a quality smartphone that will last you for years, then Nokia is definitely worth the money. However, if you’re looking for the latest and greatest smartphone, then you might be better off with a different brand.
