iPhone 3G Overview
iPhone 3G, launched on July 11, 2008, is an affordable entry-level smartphone by Apple. It is available in Black, and White colour.
In terms of the display, the iPhone 3G boasts a 3.5-inch Widescreen (TN technology) display featuring Multi-touch, LED-backlit, and Fingerprint-resistant. It offers a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, providing 163 pixels per inch.
The iPhone 3G is powered by a Single Core Samsung RISC processor coupled with a PowerVR MBX Lite 3D GPU. It comes with 256MB RAM of type LPDDR3 and 16GB, 8GB of built-in storage. The handset lacks the option of additional storage via a memory card.
As regards cameras, the iPhone 3G comes with:
- No front camera
- Some of the features of the front camera are N/A.
- A single camera on the rear side featuring 2MP sensor. The aperture of the rear camera lens is f/2.8.
- Some of the features of the back camera are Optical Zoom.
The iPhone 3G runs iOS 2.0 operating system. It also supports Mini-SIM.
iPhone 3G is backed by a 1150mAh Fixed battery which does not support fast charging or wireless charging. It supports different sensors such as Accelerometer, and Proximity sensor and Ambient Light Sensor.
The iPhone 3G weighs 133 grams and measures 4.55 x 2.44 x 0.48 inches (height x width x thickness). The build materials include Front (Glass), Back (Aluminium + Plastic) and Sides (Aluminium + Plastic).
The connectivity options of iPhone 3G include Bluetooth (2.0), Wi-Fi, GPS, 2G / GSM / GPRS, 3G / HSPA / CDMA, and Mini-SIM for Calls / SMS / Data.
16 GB storage was more than enough at that time. People were not curious about specs back then.
