Some markets where Gionee’s phones are available include Bangladesh, India, Taiwan, Nigeria, Nepal, and the Philippines. Gionee announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in India in August 2016.
The Miami, Florida-based cell phone company BLU Products collaborates with Gionee China and Gionee India to design phones that are sold in the United States and other North American markets under their own brand name. In addition, Foxconn, DBG, and Padget, three major global manufacturers of mobile phones, have joined forces with Gionee.
German media revealed in 2014 that Gionee was shipping smartphones and tablets pre-loaded with spyware and viruses.
