The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to be the grand finale of the company’s upcoming 15 series. While the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro have already launched in China, the Ultra model is still waiting for its debut, likely set to be unveiled at MWC 2025. Leaks have already revealed some of its key details.

A well-known leaker on X, @That_Kartikey, shared some insights into the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. According to these leaks, the phone will feature a self-developed chip, possibly called the “Small Surge” chip. The specific functions and specs of this chip are still unclear, but it could play a significant role in the device’s performance.

If the name “Surge” sounds familiar, that’s because Xiaomi has used this branding in the past for chips related to battery management. The Surge chips have been known to improve battery life and charging speeds, so the Small Surge chip could serve a similar purpose, though its exact use remains unknown.

Aside from the chip, there are rumors about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s camera setup. It’s expected to have an improved lens coating, as well as a new 10cm± macro focus for better close-up shots.

In terms of camera hardware, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to feature a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with a Samsung HP9 sensor. It’s also expected to include a secondary 50 MP telephoto lens with 3X zoom, possibly using the Sony IMX 858 sensor.
