Realme 10

Realme has launched the Realme 10 series, and the Realme 10, the most affordable phone in the series, is already making waves in Pakistan. Amidst multiple global crises such as Covid, supply chain issues, and inflation, Realme has managed to keep the price of the Realme 10 the same as its predecessor, the Realme 9, while improving its performance and photography features.

The Realme 10 boasts a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a 360Hz touch response rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It uses the Helio G99 chipset by MediaTek, offering much better performance over the Snapdragon 680 in the Realme 9, especially when it comes to games. The phone has 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, and a microSD slot.

The Realme 10 features a dual-camera setup on the back with a 50MP primary and a 2MP depth sensor. Although this is a downgrade from the Realme 9's triple camera setup, Realme promises improved photo quality and new features. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast wired charging.

The Realme 10 comes with Android 12 and Realme UI 3.0. Realme promises at least two major updates for this smartphone, potentially more depending on future developments. While the Realme 10 is not splash-resistant, Realme made some cost-cutting decisions to keep the phone affordable while still offering a solid feature set.

Design-wise, the Realme 10 is a pleasantly pocketable smartphone weighing 179 g, with a unique and eye-catching design. The Rush Black and Clash White colors are quite interesting, but the Rush Black version is the more mainstream and discrete option. The phone has a solid build with a secure enough grip.

The Realme 10 faces competition from a few other smartphones in its price range. The Realme 9, which costs the same as the Realme 10, offers better camera performance, including a 3x lossless zoom and a good ultrawide camera. The 128GB Poco M5 is similarly priced as the 64GB Realme 10 and has a similar camera experience but with a lower-quality selfie camera and charging speed. The Poco M5s costs the same as the Realme 10 and has an AMOLED screen, stereo speakers, and a more versatile camera but similar photo quality. The 128GB Samsung Galaxy A33 5G costs around the same as the 128GB Realme 10 and offers an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, a 90Hz Super AMOLED screen, stereo speakers, and a more powerful Exynos 1280 chipset with 5G modem.
