“iPhone 17 to Feature Apple’s Own Wi-Fi 7 Chip, Moving Away from Broadcom”

The Apple iPhone 17 series is coming in fall 2025! There are rumors that Apple will stop using Broadcom for their WiFi and Bluetooth chips. Instead, they will make their own WiFi 7 chip. This information comes from a supply chain expert named Ming-Chi Kuo.

Apple has used Broadcom for a long time because they make really good chips, but they are expensive. Apple wants more control over how they make their products, just like they did with their new 5G modem for the iPhone SE 4.

Kuo says the new WiFi chip will be made using a special process called TSMC 7nm. Apple plans to use this chip in many of their products over the next three years. Making their own chips will help Apple save money.

Since this will be the first version of their WiFi chip, there might be some worries about how well it works. But Apple usually makes sure their products are good before selling them, so it will likely be just fine.

The iPhone SE 4 will be the first phone to use Apple’s new 5G modem. It might also have Apple’s A18 chip and still use the old Broadcom WiFi chip for now.
