Samsung has opened up its One UI 6 beta program, based on the Android 14 operating system, to users of its foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. This expansion allows owners of these premium foldable phones to get a sneak peek at the upcoming software updates and contribute feedback to help Samsung fine-tune the user experience. To join the beta program, users should launch the Samsung Members app, where they will find a prominently displayed banner advertising the beta. If the banner isn't immediately visible, some users have reported success by uninstalling and reinstalling the Samsung Members app, after which the banner becomes accessible. Once users select the banner, they will be prompted to accept the program's terms and conditions. Following this, the initial beta update will be delivered to their devices via an over-the-air (OTA) update. For the Galaxy Z Fold5, this initial update is approximately 2.7GB in size, and a similar file size is expected for the Galaxy Z Flip5. After applying the update, the Galaxy Z Fold5 will be running on build F946BXXU1ZWJ2, while the Galaxy Z Flip5 will be on F731U1UEU1ZWJ2. It's important to note that, as of now, the One UI 6 beta program for these foldable devices is available exclusively to users in the United States and India, and eligibility may vary by region. This expansion of the beta program reflects Samsung's commitment to improving its foldable devices and delivering an optimized user experience. By involving users in the testing process, Samsung can identify and address issues, leading to a more stable and feature-rich final release of One UI 6.
