Vivo Y36-Latest-News

Vivo has surprised the Chinese market with the launch of a revamped Vivo Y36, featuring a fresh design and downgraded specifications compared to its global variant, which was released earlier this year. Unlike the original model, the Chinese variant of the Vivo Y36 is exclusively available in a 5G flavor.

The Chinese Y36 sports a smaller 6.56-inch display with an HD+ resolution, accompanied by a dewdrop notch rather than the centered punch hole in the global version. The rectangular camera island remains, but the LED flashlight has been relocated to a new position below the cameras.

Under the hood, the Chinese Y36 runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chip, a departure from the Snapdragon 680 chip in the global model. The display of the latest 4G Vivo mobile maintains a 90Hz refresh rate but steps down to HD+.

The primary and selfie cameras also take a hit in the Chinese Y36, now featuring 13MP and 5MP sensors, a noticeable downgrade from the 50MP and 16MP sensors found in the global variant. Nevertheless, the 2MP depth sensor remains a consistent feature.

In terms of pricing, the Vivo Y36 in China comes in five memory configurations, with the base model (6GB + 128GB) priced at ¥1,399 ~PKR 55,500 and the top-tier variant (12GB + 512GB) available for ¥2,399 (~PKR 95,000). The phone is offered in Space Gray, Galaxy Gold, and Fantasy Purple color options, adding a splash of variety to its reimagined identity in the Chinese market.

The revamped Vivo Y36 brings a fresh design and a focus on 5G connectivity to the Chinese market, but it comes at the cost of downgraded specifications compared to its global counterpart. Whether this trade-off will appeal to Chinese consumers remains to be seen.
