As the iPhone 15 series entered the pre-order phase in select countries last Friday, Apple enthusiasts eagerly anticipated its arrival. According to respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is emerging as the star of the lineup, surpassing the initial demand for last year's iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Demand for the entry-level iPhone 15 and 15 Plus appears to be on par with the previous iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. However, Kuo notes a shift in consumer preferences, with the larger Pro Max model capturing more attention this year, mainly due to the upgraded camera experience it offers.
Notably, wait times for the iPhone 15 Pro Max are reported to be "significantly" longer than those for the previous 14 Pro Max. This increased demand is attributed not only to consumer interest but also to ongoing production challenges and an altered production schedule.
Kuo predicts that the iPhone 15 series is on track to achieve a combined shipment of 80 million units by the end of the year.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max, among the flagship devices in the series, boasts impressive specifications. It features a 6.7-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a ceramic shield glass for added durability, and runs on iOS 17. Powered by the Apple A17 Pro chipset, it offers a Hexa-core CPU and a 6-core Apple GPU for exceptional performance.
The device comes with multiple memory configurations, including 256GB and 512GB with 8GB of RAM, as well as a massive 1TB storage option.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max's camera setup includes a triple-lens system with a 48MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. It also features a TOF 3D LiDAR scanner for enhanced depth sensing. On the front, a 12MP selfie camera and SL 3D sensor ensure high-quality selfies and biometric security features.
Additionally, the device offers advanced video capabilities, supporting 4K video recording at various frame rates, HDR, Dolby Vision, and ProRes. It features spatial audio recording and stereo sound.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max supports 5G connectivity, ensuring fast data speeds and low latency. It also incorporates Face ID for secure biometric authentication, UWB (Ultra Wideband) support, and emergency SOS via satellite.
With a robust 4,422mAh battery, the device supports wired charging, delivering a 50% charge in just 30 minutes, as well as wireless charging through MagSafe and Qi-compatible chargers.
Available in various titanium finishes, including Black, White, Blue, and Natural, the iPhone 15 Pro Max pre-order starts at PKR 709,500. The device is set to release on September 22, promising an exciting experience for Apple enthusiasts and tech aficionados worldwide.
