Introduction
Tecno is getting ready to launch a new set of phones aimed at the mid-range market, called the Camon 40 series. The top model in this series will be the Camon 40 Premier, which has already been approved by a regulatory body in the US. The Camon 40 4G, likely the more affordable version, has also passed certification in Thailand.
The "Premier" label is reserved for the best phone in the Camon lineup, and the Camon 40 Premier is no exception. The phone’s model code “CM8” was spotted in the FCC database in the US, which will help us recognize the device in future certifications.
While the FCC listing didn’t provide much detail, we know that the Camon 40 Premier will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, as shown in the IMEI tag on the phone’s back. The blueprint image gives us a rough idea of what the phone might look like.
The design of the Camon 40 is expected to be similar to the Camon 30 series, though it may feature a camera layout with a centered circular camera ring. The square lens on the back could be a periscope telephoto lens, which Tecno typically reserves for its Premier models.
The Camon 40 Premier will likely have four camera lenses, but there isn’t much information on them yet. The FCC listing also revealed that the phone might support fast 70W charging, though we don’t yet know the battery details. More information may come out later.
The previous Camon 30 4G had a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and was powered by the Helio G99 processor. It also supported 70W charging and had a 5000mAh battery. If the Camon 40 continues this legacy, it’s likely to impress.
The Camon 40 4G, which is the budget version, is listed with the model number CM6 in the NBTC certification, but there are no specs available for it yet. If it’s similar to the Camon 30 4G, it could also be a big hit in the market.
