Samsung Galaxy S25+ Teardown Reveals Larger Vapor Chamber and Improved Battery Removal

A recent teardown video of the Samsung Galaxy S25+ has surfaced, offering a closer look at the device’s internal design. While the overall layout remains largely unchanged from its predecessor, the S25+ introduces a couple of notable improvements.

One of the key upgrades is the new pull pouch system for battery removal, which replaces the older pull tabs. According to PBKreviews, who conducted the teardown, the new pouch makes it easier to remove the battery compared to the Galaxy S24+. This small but significant change could simplify repairs for users and technicians alike.

Another improvement highlighted in the teardown is the larger vapor chamber, designed to enhance thermal management. While Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S25 Ultra features a 40% larger vapor chamber than its predecessor, the exact increase for the S25+ remains unspecified. However, the teardown clearly shows that the vapor chamber in the S25+ is noticeably larger than that of the S24+.

Despite these upgrades, the Galaxy S25+ retains the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset as the S25 Ultra. In our review of the S25 Ultra, we noted that sustained performance remained a challenge, even with the larger vapor chamber. This raises questions about whether the S25+ will face similar issues under heavy workloads.

The teardown video also assessed the repairability of the S25+, awarding it a score of 9/10—the same as the S24+. While the new battery removal system is a step forward, concerns about the general ease of repair and screen replacement slightly impacted the score.
